CPR & First Aid Instructor
Jodi wears many hats. She is a full time Student Accessibility Specialist in post-secondary education, an entrepreneur, and a very busy mom. Her passion for empowering youth to be young leaders in the community inspired the development of In a Heartbeat, an idea which has grown and flourished over the last 5 years. Jodi has spent her career supporting children and adults with disabilities along with their families and continues to do so alongside her work with In a Heartbeat.
Jodi is a certified CPR and First Aid instructor through the Heart & Stroke foundation and has a Master's Degree in Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Family Science. Jodi believes that every classroom should be an inclusive environment and brings that philosophy to the table when working with youth in our community.

Jodi has three children and four step children ages 11-19, and two dogs, all of whom she raises with her partner Pierre. When she does have spare time, Jodi loves to cook, read, hit the beach with her family, and return to her homeland of beautiful Prince Edward Island.
Liz Hamilton
Instructor
Liz is a woman of many talents. She is a student at Mount Saint Vincent University in the Bachelor of Child & Youth Studies after graduating from NSCC with an Early Childhood Education diploma with the ultimate goal of becoming an elementary teacher.
Liz also works for the Nova Scotia College for Early Childhood Education as an educator.
Liz is a mom to four children ages 7 to 13 and wife to her husband Randy. When she does have time to herself Liz enjoys kickboxing, running, singing and visiting her family in Sipekneꞌkatik and Cape Breton. "
Mia Laybolt
Instructor - Prince Edward Island
Mia is a student at the University of Prince Edward Island. Her future plans are to continue her studies in the Education program, with hopes to teach primary and elementary aged children.
Mia loves playing basketball and softball, and enjoys spending time at her family cottage in Lakeside, PEI. Mia spends most of her time coaching u11 girls softball, and jumping around at her day job, at Off the Wallz Trampoline Park.
Sarah Barron
Instructor
Sarah is a Learning Center Teacher with Halifax Regional Center for Education. She has her Masters of Education with a focus on Inclusive Education as well as her Bachelor of Education - Elementary.
She loves working with school aged children and is excited to start with this team!
Sarah has a busy 12 year old son who she raises with her husband, Chris. When she has spare time, Sarah loves to read, bake, swim ,cheer on her sons basketball team and create fun items for school and her students with her Cricut!
Tara Currie
Instructor
Tara is a Primary Teacher with Halifax Regional Centre for Education.
She has her Bachelor of Education Degree and is into year 3 of becoming a certified Orton Gillingham Tutor who provides literacy support to students with Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities. When she is not teaching her primary class she is usually tutoring.
Tara has two boys ages 21 and 17. She also has two miniature schnauzers who keep her busy. She spends her extra time walking with her dogs or watching her son play basketball.
